I’m playing out there next week with the VSO. It looks like a great place and I’m looking forward to it.

Also check out the new halls for the Nashville Symphony in Tennessee and the North Carolina Symphony in Raleigh. I’ve been in the NC Hall and it is fantastic. I’ll look for links.

The hall in NC was only $17,000,000.00. The best thing that could happen is for the VAPAF to be disbanded. Not only have they not raised funds, but they have spent all of the Carpenter Center Endowment. It is a shame this could not be done properly. I hate to say I told you so, but I said it years ago. Now we are in rough shape and playing in churches till 2009.

I’ll see the hall next week, not this week. I had my schedule screwed up. BUT, I’ll tell you that the orchestra has yet to play in the shell (it wasn’t ready for their pops concert a few weeks ago) and they still liked it a lot. We have a sound-check with Lara next Thursday so I’ll post again after that.

There’s an interesting post on richmondcitywatch.com by someone who attended the VSO’s performance at the Ferguson Center. See the post by “mt”.
