Louisiana Philharmonic Musicians Turn Down Radio City Music Hall

Despite their extraordinary circumstances following Hurricane Katrina, the musicians of the Louisiana Philharmonic have rejected an offer from Radio City Music Hall to replace their regular orchestra.

It’s disturbing that an arts organization would do something as high-profile and so low-class as what Radio City did, trying to hire the LPO as a scab orchestra. If you tried to pull something cute like that on the teamsters union, well, let’s just say you might want to locate a good physical therapist!
And kudos to the LPO for doing the right (and smart) thing!
